Why Do They Always Do It on Vacation?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this story.
A man builds his career. His business. His life.
He provides abundantly for his wife.
And when he finally lets his guard down—maybe on vacation, maybe after years of hard work—
👉 She says she needs space.
👉 She tells him, “I love you, but I’m not in love with you.”
👉 She brings up separating (which is just code for “I want a divorce” but can’t bring herself to say it yet).
You didn’t see it coming.
Or at least, you didn’t want to see it.
What Went Wrong?
I hate to say this, but it started going wrong from the beginning.
The dynamics were set long before she dropped this bomb.
You grew up believing you had to be the “man of the house”—driven by the idea of perfection.
She grew up in chaos—physical, emotional, or both.
When you met? It felt like magic.
She made you feel alive. You finally felt needed, wanted, whole.
But over time, the gap between you started to widen.
She seemed drawn back into emotional chaos.
You doubled down on trying to “do the right thing” and make everything perfect.
You felt more responsible for her happiness.
She felt more trapped.
This is textbook anxious-avoidant dynamics.
Or codependency and narcissism.
Or Nice Guys and the women they try to fix.
Different words, same destructive cycle.
The Hard Truth: You Can’t Change Her.
The biggest mistake you can make right now?
Trying to fix her.
👉 You can’t change her patterns.
👉 You can’t change her wounds.
👉 You can’t change what’s already happening in her head.
The only thing you can do—and the only thing that will ever work—is focusing on your own patterns.
Because if you don’t?
❌ You’ll keep looking past red flags.
❌ You’ll keep attracting women who need “saving.”
❌ You’ll keep repeating Nice Guy Syndrome and codependency for life.
There’s No Fast Way Through This—But There Is a Way Forward
Healing codependency and breaking free from Nice Guy Syndrome isn’t a weekend fix.
But if you commit to it, here’s what happens:
✅ You stop making her your emotional center.
✅ You learn to lead—not from control, but from deep self-trust.
✅ You step into the kind of masculine presence she’s been craving all along.
That’s what actually turns relationships around.
That’s what makes a woman look at you differently again.
And if she’s already out the door?
That’s what ensures you never repeat this cycle again.

Why do they always do it on vacation?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this.
So many men have built their careers, their businesses, and provided abundantly for their wives.
And then, as they feel like they can let their guard down a little, they get served up—I need space.
I love you, but I’m not in love with you anymore.
I think we should separate (this is code for, I want a divorce but she can’t just say it).
So what went wrong? I’m sad to say that it started going wrong from the start.
You grew up being told that you had to be the man of the house, and you are driven by an idea of perfection. She grew up in chaos—physical and emotional.
When you started the relationship it felt like you found the one!
But over time the gap began to deepen and she seemed to be drawn back into emotional chaos, and you were driving to ‘do the right thing’ (perfection). We might also call this anxious and avoidant attachment styles. Codependent and Narcissistic... Nice Guys and the women they try to fix. You get the picture.
Here’s the truth. You can’t change her; all you can do is focus on what you did that caused you to look past all the red flags and kept you stuck in Nice Guy/Codependency—unless you address this you are doomed to keep repeating the pattern FOR LIFE.
There is no fast way through this. But if you heal the codependency and learn to lead your woman—because that’s what she’s really looking for—then your future could look much better.
I’ve been helping business owners and entrepreneurs do this for over a decade.
